good friends don’t let you do stupid things alone!

Today we’re on the ScrapsnPieces Blog with a guest post. We are so thrilled with this opportunity and are excited to show our project!

We’ve created a Round Canvas for the current mood-board challenge.

The colours, of course, intrigued us, and the quote. It took us back to some great memories. We decided to capture it all on a canvas that can adorn a wall in our room.

Here’s a look at our creation:

We were inspired by the following challenges:

More Than Words May Challenge- Memories & Frame– We’ve used a Chipboard Frame and Memories are all about happy memories with friends.

Lindy’s May Challenge- We’ve used Sprays- Magnolia Magenta GoldHibiscus RoseFrench Lilac VioletCalifornia Poppy Gold; Magical Shaker- Guten Tag Teal; Embossing Powders- Yodeling Yellow, Guten Tag Teal, Aurora Amethyst and Hibiscus Rose Orange

Everyday Treasures

Today we’re back with another mixed media style layout. Here’s a look at it:

IMG_2008

We have used the 7 Dots Studio Nothern Lights Collection, stamps from the Paint Chips Collection; Finnabair’s Art Alchemy Paints, Mediums, Waxes, Glitter, Melange Pebbles, Art Stones, Kaisercraft Dies, Peek-a-boo Designs dies and Cherry Lynn Doily.

We were inspired by two challenges for this one:

7 Dots Studio April Challenge– We played with the colour palette and were inspired by the flowers, and walking down a path under the night sky.

Scraps n Pieces April Challenge-  A few of our favourite things- to walk under the enchanting, magical night sky and nature. We also used colours from the palette.

My Happy Place

Did you view the Journal Page tutorial using Gel Press yesterday? Well today, we have used the remaining pieces with the same colours lifted in yesterday’s video and created a completely different page. This one is with elements, depth and dimension.

We were inspired by :

The Moodboard at Scrap n Pieces for the April Challenge– “My Favorite Things” for us is ‘My Happy Place’- being in nature, with flowers blooming, birds chirping and butterflies flying. We were also inspired by the colour palette and the various textures on the board.

Crafter’s Castle April Challenge– For us Dimension is in the form of all elements against each other, adding depth and giving the real feel.

Here’s the link to the tutorial in case you missed it:

No fuss journaling

Today we’re here to show you our latest journal page. The title says it all, we decide to work with minimal elements and create a page within 5 minutes. Sometimes, art doesn’t have to be complicated, the less the better and trust us it’s effective!

So here’s a look at our page

We were inspired by the January Moodboard at Scraps n Pieces Blog. The colours, the image of the drink and ‘Baby it’s cold outside’. So we used these and decided to journal. When it’s cold and you just want to relax, you don’t want to work too hard, and our page reflects that mood as well.

Christmas Tags

Today we’re back with another Christmas Project.

We’ve created a set of two traditional mixed media tags. These make great gifts for the festive season.

Here’s a look at our tags

ScrapsnPieces December Challenge- It’s Christmas Time Baby– inspired by the colours and board

Canvas Corp Brands December Challenge- Christmas Wish #ccbchallenge- inspired by the board- “All I want for Christmas is… joy and cheer”

Lindy’s December Challenge– we were inspired by the Red and Green and used the following Sprays- Rizzo’s Rowdy Red, Rudolph’s Nose Red, Cathedral Pines Green, Golden Doubloons; Embossing Powder- Caesar’s Gold, Cuckoo Clock Cardinal and Tannenbaum Green Gold. Our snowflake is a chippie :)!
