lost among the clouds

Today we’re here to show you our latest Mixed Media layout! With a lot of layering and colour play, here’s a look at it:

Feb 7 Dots Studio 1Feb 7 Dots Studio 2Feb 7 Dots Studio 3Feb 7 Dots Studio 4Feb 7 Dots Studio 5Feb 7 Dots Studio 6Feb 7 Dots Studio 7Feb 7 Dots Studio 8Feb 7 Dots Studio 9

We were inspired by the mood board at 7 Dots Studio February Challenge for this layout. We’ve used the Northern Lights Collection along with stamps and stencils from other 7 Dots Studio Collections.

We were also inspired by the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge- Add a Die-cut-  Our layered elements- leaves, ferns are all die cut.

Scraps n pieces February Challenge– Dare to Blossom- inspired by the colour combination of turquoise with pink and the blooms.

The world is your Oyster

Today we have a look scrapbook layout to share with you’ll. We’ve used DCWV’s Blue China Stack for this one. This is a quick and easy layout, showcasing paper from the stack. We haven’t added any extra element. We’ve fussy cut flowers from the paper in the stack and punched out other layered elements.

We were inspired by two challenges for this:

More Than Words February Challenge- Forever and Heart– We used both in our layout- Forever on the badge as well as a tile and a mini shaker heart as a focal.

Cuts2 Luv February Challenge- We’ve used a heart on our badge, the technique of splatter and a few colours from the colour combo.

Live, Create, Tell your Story

You see how powerful the title is! It is something we resonate with and today we are here to show you a journal cover we created for ourselves. This year, we decided to go beyond a book for journaling! Last year, most of our books got so bulky that they wouldn’t close and we had baskets all around our house!

So this year, we’ve done up our covers on chipboard, and we’ll use some rings to keep our journal pages between these covers as and when we create.

We always need positivity, motivation, love around us and we represent this in our journal covers. Here’s a look at it, before we talk more about it.

Feb Lindy 1

It says it all- ‘Fall in Love with as many things as possible’ and we today urge you all to fall in Love with yourselves. Peep inside, and reflect. Any journey begins with loving yourself, and then you Live, Create and Tell your Story. The colours we used for this our the pink tones- Shade of Red, which to us are LOVE. This is one creation, which makes us proud of ourselves. While working on our covers, we also created a quick journal page to go inside it- that again is filled with positivity. Our insides of the front and back cover- have quotes, that sure will pump us up every time we open it. We were inspired by the Path of Positivity Challenge Blog and their February Theme- Shades of Red; by the mood board and colours at Lindy’s February Challenge; the Take Note theme at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge; Words & Paintery February Challenge- Love is all around

We’ve used Lindy’s Gang Products (Colours linked below); Prima Marketing- Stencil; Finnabair- Mediums, Art Stones, Waxes, Matallique Paints, Glitter, Stamps; Papericious -Chipboard and assorted chippies from our stash; Tim Holtz- Mini Motivation Stamps; Peek-a-boo Designs- Stencil

We’re linking our creation to:

Path of Positivity Challenge Blog and their February Theme- Shades of Red– We’ve explained above how we were inspired.

Lindy’s February Challenge– We’ve used Lindy’s Sprays- Poppin’ Pink, Plumeria Pink, Sweet Violet Purple Teal; Magical- Cocklebells Coral; Shakers- Oom Pah Pah Pink; Embossing Powder- Cosmic Pink Blue

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge– We’ve created a journal- done up our journal covers and a page inside.

Words & Paintery February Challenge- Love is all around

No fuss journaling

Today we’re here to show you our latest journal page. The title says it all, we decide to work with minimal elements and create a page within 5 minutes. Sometimes, art doesn’t have to be complicated, the less the better and trust us it’s effective!

So here’s a look at our page

Feb Scrap n pieces JP 1Feb Scrap n pieces JP 2Feb Scrap n pieces JP 4Feb Scrap n pieces JP 3Feb Scrap n pieces JP 5Feb Scrap n pieces JP 6

We were inspired by the January Moodboard at Scraps n Pieces Blog. The colours, the image of the drink and ‘Baby it’s cold outside’. So we used these and decided to journal. When it’s cold and you just want to relax, you don’t want to work too hard, and our page reflects that mood as well.

beauty in simplicity

Today we’re back with inspiration for the Through The Craftroom Door Weekly, Anything Goes Challenge!

Our sponsor this week is

Sheepski Designs

Blurb:
Living in Leeds, Yorkshire in the UK, working full time as a Management Accountant, currently working on 2 design teams and an obsessive crafter and creator of cards. I have no actual style as yet but do love the unusual and quirky. I may be known for producing cards in soft pastel colours.
I love anything arty. I’ve always drawn stuff, for as long as I can remember. In my younger days, I sold a few watercolour paintings. I recently found mixed media which is a joy and love creating canvases with flowers.
I had a battle with digital drawing for about a year and finally found some software I could gel with. January 2016 a challenge team I worked on was short of a designer’s images to create with so I drew some. I opened my shop a month later so I could sponsor challenges and give something back to the crafting world, to the lovely ladies who have supported me on my journey.
I’ve a Facebook group SheepSki Designs where I hold challenges, some for fun to win digis as well as my monthly card challenge. I’ve a SheepSki Designs challenge blog as well. Things are growing slowly (thankfully) so I still manage to spend at least a little time with my hubby 😀

We’ve used the Strawberry Season    Image to inspire you all!
