Junk Journal

We’re back with another fun project…

This time we’ve created a junk journal from scratch. We have done it up in a vintage, shabby chic style. This one is also all about motivational quotes. So it makes a good as well as an inspiring book for oneself.

The spread below is an inspiration for the mid-month challenge at Colorful Creations. We’ve used the cream and brown tones and the image of the coffee mug.

We were inspired by various challenges for this one.

The Canvas Corps Brands November Challenge #ccbchallenge– The tones of creams and browns, Our interpretation of cozy being- grabbing a book, journaling, sleeping and relaxing with a tea.

The Mixed Media Place October Challenge- Pastel tones of the mood-board and the image of the books.

Venice Sunrise/Sunset

Today we’re back with some inspiration for the mid-month reveal at Let’s Get Sketchy,

Here’s our take on it:

We were inspired by the 7 Dots studio October challenge-Sunrise/Sunset.  We’ve created this layout representing both. Our picture shows the sunset and sunrise in amidst the canals in Venice. We have used the 7 Dots Studio Verano Azul Collection.

We were inspired by the More Than Words November Challenge- Outdoors and Woodgrain. Our picture represents a vacation outdoor and we’ve incorporated woodgrain on our background paper.

We were also inspired by the colours of the Lindy’s November Challenge and we have used Lindy’s Sprays- Urban Amethyst, Hydrangea Blue, California Poppy Gold, Marigold Yellow Orange.

The image we are using is from our Sponsor Bugaboo Stamps who is offering a $12.00 store voucher to some lucky winner.

The image that we are using today is called Meant to Be Floral.

Here is our card:

The image is beautiful with that inspirational quote. We kept it simple. We coloured the floral clusters with Dylusions Paints. Layered the image on pattern paper and on our base cardstock, created some interest with another pattern paper. We’ve added dimension with foam tape while sticking the layers.

Hello everyone,

Here’s a fab edition of the – The November-December 2017 Issue of Through the Craft Room Door, which is available in the Subscribers Only Area of the Website.

The Designers for Through the Craft Room Door have done another bang up job with over a dozen tutorials and a large variety of theme inspired (Spring or Easter / Retirement / Valentine or Love) cards to inspire you.

And as we try to do every November/December issue, several of the girls have shared family traditions, recipes or childhood memories. We hope you read them and are motivated to start or reengage a family tradition of your own.

We have a new challenge for you to join … A Christmas tic tac toe board and the DT have provided some wonderful samples for you to check out.

Our Featured Digi Artist this issue is Sarah Schedler, the talent behind StarStampz. Her Design Team has shared several cards done with various images and she has generously given us some amazing images for our subscribers which can be found in the Subscribers Only area of the website.

Fantasy

Today we’re back with a magical layout! This time we were inspired by a few challenges and we love our end result:-)!

“Dreams are not without meaning wherever they may come from- from fantasy, from the elements, or from other inspiration.” Beyond the stars is a world of dreams and fantasy- follow your dreams, my friend, they know the way!

Here’s a look at our layout before we getting into our inspirations:)!

Fantasy LO 1

Fantasy LO 3Fantasy LO 2Fantasy LO 4Fantasy LO 5Fantasy LO 7

We were inspired by the following challenges:

Mixed Media and Art October Challenge- Fantasy – We were inspired by the dark shades of blue, grey, green contrasted with the yellow gold of the light, as well as the theme of fantasy and the first image of being lost among stars.

Words and Paintery October challenge – inspired by the colours and theme of creating without limits.

7 Dots Studio October Challenge- Sunrise- Sunset– inspired by sunset leading to a dark yet hopeful night. We’ve used the Dreamscapes and HazyDays Collection.

Cuts2Luv November Challenge– we were inspired by the darker blue-grey tones with the contrast of yellow/gold; our badge has stars on it and we used a clock as our embellishment.

We’ve also created this project for the Stage 4 of Creative Art Project at Mixed Media and Art and have an exclusive post for that here.

Creative Art- Stage 4

For the Mixed Media and Art Creative Art Project Stage 4-Brilliant Decoration,  we’ve created a layout where we’ve used a large hoop style earring on our layout as an embellishment and our entire layout has a shine in terms of glitter beads and gold sparks.

Here’s our layout
