Oh, Wildflower- Mixed Media Layout

Today I’m sharing a mixed media style layout with you’ll. I was inspired by two challenges for this project.

The Main Challenge at More Than Words. The word inspiration is ‘Everyday’ and the creative inspiration is ‘bugs and birds’.  I picked out the activity that I cherish doing everyday- pausing, reflecting, meditating. It helps me travel within and reach this paradise and connect with nature in ways unimaginable. It also helps me grow each day as a soul. It’s as though my reflection speaks to me. I’ve added butterflies and a bird in this journey to paradise.

I was inspired by the Lindy’s Colour challenge for April– Teal, Pink and Purple.

I’ve written a poem to talk about this experience-

Oh, wildflower!

Pause and reflect,
Look deep within
And lose yourself
Among the clouds.
Run wild, run free,
Through the trees and
The poppy fields.
Take a nap and dream,
Float with the breeze,
Hop in the stream,
Step on the stones
And soak in the wilderness.
Oh, Wildflower!
You’ll bloom right here,
Where you’re planted,
For the weeds are wishes
And under the stars
You light the way.
Breathe it all in
Oh, wild child!
So when it is harvest time,
You’ll shine brightly
And sing your little song.
And when we cross paths,
We’ll speak in breezy whispers
And dance in the rain.
For these are our
Everyday treasures
And this paradise
Is the perfect storm
To blossom and shine.

Here’s a journal page to inspire you all to play along @nomadicsouldiaries (Instagram) challenge. The challenge is to create a journal page, use chipboards and include your name (my name means blue and so I used that).

More Than Words Challenge – Fantasy & Wings- Inspired by the general idea of fantasy, added phrases on that, chosen fairies as creatures of fantasy and for the challenge of wings.

Christmas Dinner

Join us for a Christmas dinner mixed media style :-D? Truly enjoyed laying this out.

Using Lindy’s Sprays- Cathedral Pines Green,  Poinciana Red Flame, Grab a Guy Gold, Blazing Sun; Magicals- Silent Night Silver and Tiffany Lou’s Blue; Embossing Powders- Poinsettia Red Green, Lederhosen Laurel; Papericious Chipboard elements, Heartfelt Creations Stamps and Dies, and assorted elements from the stash we have these napkin rings, cutlery holder, candle stands, Christmas tree and sleigh for a nice Christmas scene.

Here are a pair of ATC cards, filled with Lindy’s awesomeness. We’ve used Lindy’s Shakers- Grab a Guy Gold and Time Travel Teal; Embossing Powders- Guten Tag Teal and Razzleberry Plum; Sprays- Grab a Guy Gold, Rizzo’s Rowdy Red, Hag’s Wart Orange and Tilt a Wheel Teal

Today we’re back with a mixed media style layout. On this one, we’ve kept it clean and simple. We’ve used Lindy’s Shakers- Oktoberfest Orange and Bavarian Blue, and Magical- Mango Mania on the background. We’ve used Cuts2Luv badge, doily, 49 & Market flowers, Kaisercraft collectables, fabric, and Papericious sequence for the layering along with a photo.

Birthday Layout

Sunila here from Dots to Lines, with a birthday layout for Aditi. I’ve used her favourite colours and created this layout. I’ve used Lindy’s Sprays- Hottie Patottie Hot Pink, Tilt a Wheel Teal, Shaker- Bavarian Blue and Embossing Powders- Bavarian Blue, Razzleberry Plum and Twilight Blue Slate. I have used the Altenew Reflections kit along with the stamps- Vintage Flowers and Peony Boquet, inks- Green Fields, Glacier Caves and Red Cosmos. For the texture on the background, I have applied Liquitex Glass Beads texture through AB Studio Stencil ID 23. I have used Finnabair’s Waxes- Rose Gold and Vintage Old to highlight the texture. I have completed it with Art Extravagance Glitter.

We’ve created a Round Canvas for the current mood-board challenge.

The colours, of course, intrigued us, and the quote. It took us back to some great memories. We decided to capture it all on a canvas that can adorn a wall in our room.

We’re back with a quick journal spread.

This was fun and easy to create. We played with minimal supplies- Lindy’s Sprays- Poinciana Red Flame, Incandescent Copper, Bayou Boogie Gold, Bratwurst Brown Magical Shaker and Embossing Powders-Bratwurst Brown and Poinsettia Red Green; Dream On Stamp Set by FInnabair, Messy Script and Bussble Background Stamps, a black uniball pen and a mini embellishment we earlier created using the Papericious Ethereal Pack. Spring Swap, Hop +Giveaway Aditi & Preety

Spring is here and boy we love it! Sometime back, a crafty friend Nuneka, asked us if we would be interested in being a part of a crafty swap, and we said yes! Scroll down to the end of the post for the hop details and a giveaway!

Today is the day when we finally reveal our creations. A little about the swap- we formed a small crafty group and we were each assigned a partner. We had to create something for our partner and keep it a secret. Our projects travelled across the globe and we spread some crafty love.

In this post, I, Aditi, will reveal the project that I created for my partner Preeti Dutta. I wanted to create something that she not only treasures but also can use. Hence I made her a journal. I bought a blank sketchbook and designed the covers using mixed media. Preeti told me she loves Blues and Greens and that was perfect as those were spring colours. The phrases that I used on the cover are not just motivational but also go with the spring blossom. Check the video link below for more.
