Over on Lindy’s YouTube Channel, I’m showing you how to create a galaxy inspired Jumbo Tag. I’m using the Outer Space Magicals set, which is the challenge set of the month to create a fantasy galaxy scene. I use water-colour techniques to paint the galaxy background, and add stamped details with embossing powder, inks and stencil details with texture past to build the scene. I also paint the stamped focal images and layer them on the tag to finish the scene. Hope this inspires you to create your galaxy inspired project and play with us this month.
With the Craft A Flower sets from Altenew, it is easy to craft stunning blooms. In my upcoming workshop, I use the Rhododendron to create a bouquet style card. We will explore several mediums of colouring- watercolours and pencils to create realistic looking blooms.
Workshop Details
Date- May 5th
Time- 11 am EST
Location- Virtual on Zoom
The class will be recorded and available for access and purchase after.
Mixed Media Cards are a lot of fun to make. I went all out, with pairing the new Sizzix Layered Stencils from Stacey Park’s latest release with my Lindy’s sprays! Yes you heard that right. I have painted through each layer of the stencil with my Lindy’s creating a nice organic abstract texture and then gone on to add layers using a whole lot of Sizzix Effectz pastes. I also added some ghosted stamping details to complete these cards.

I am so thrilled to be sharing two cards I created using the Altenew Stargazer Craft A Flower Die Set and Inks.
I love the realistic look I achieved just with Ink Blending. I used detailed brinding brushes, and layered several colours together to achieve this blend. I am happy to share that this is available as a class. This is an upcoming live workshop, on April 7th. The recording will be available after the live Class. A PDF with instructions is also included.

When it comes to my style, I’m always attracted to deeper meaning of life and emotions and I connect that to my art and my creations. Therefore, every project has a story to tell. I use vibrant colours and splatter that denotes freedom and spreads radiance. I enjoy paper crafting, creating layouts, journal spread, tags, canvases, albums and altered art.
Today I’m sharing a card I created inspired by the Altenew Year in Review Challenge! What I love about this is the freedom to be inspired by any palette, and then think creatively. I was inspired by the August and September palette for my card today. Apart from that, I was inspired by the idea that a card can look like a piece of printed fabric. Inspired by the lovely prints we get here in India and from my travels to Thailand, I wanted to mimic that look onto a card.
Here’s a look at the card:
Doesn’t that look like a piece of printed fabric? I sure would love a dress like that!
I’ve used the masking technique to stamp the image across my panel, creating a continuous pattern. I then used the Altenew Inks and coordinated stencil to colour in the images. To bring it all to life I coloured in the background with an Artist Marker, and added gold splatter and flower centres. I framed the panel with gold mirror cardstock and added a sentiment form Uplifting sentiments. The sentiment is heat embossed with gold.

Today I’m sharing a CAS card, with all the highlight and emphasis on my watercolored Iris. To be able to draw from nature, and then paint, is such a beautiful feeling.

As a part of my AECP 3, I tool the Botanical Illustration Inspired Watercoloring- Advanced techniques class by Jaycee Gaspar. This was a great class, with insights on maintaining a colour mixing chart, to finding the right colour when colouring a flower. The lessons on keeping a real life specimen, observing all the colour layers and details, and rendering that into the art. I have enjoyed the lessons, and I’m happy with my water colouring. If you’re looking to learn such water colouring, I highly recommend this class.
For my card, I used the Bearded Iris Outline image. I stamped it with a light purple ink on watercolour paper. I stamped the leaves separately. I then coloured the images. Beginning with a light wet on wet technique, laying the base layers, building areas of highlight. I then added more layers, deepening the colours adding shadows and the depth. Once I was happy, I die cut the flower and leaves. I used a separate card front, blended purple ink in an faded ombre effect, and adhered the flower with foam tape. I clustered a few sentiments and completed it with sequins and splatter.
I’m back with a series of cards and a class announcement. Recently, Altenew gave me an opportunity to create using the August 2023 Craft Your Life Sweet Buttercups kit. I have created a set of 5 cards that I’m offering as a class on my website. Sign up to the newsletter on the home page to get all the details of the class.
I’ve used both White and Black cardstock for my cards, to show how the colours and elements work on both backgrounds.
As a part of AECP 3, I took the Elements of a Floral Composition by Jaycee Gaspar, and I have to say this is one of my most favourite classes. He takes us through all the elements to keep in mind to achieve a great floral cluster. I was aware of a few techniques and have been using some sub-consciously in all my creations. However, taking this class, put it all in perspective and makes me more mindful now.
In my cards, I’ve incorporated the element of colour- using the 60-30-10 balance; the element of value- changing colour values, placing the elements according to their values and using the value and contrast to create a sense of depth (foreground and background); the element of lines both actual by bringing in a heavy black outline to my clusters and perceived when placing the elements to create a sense of direction and movement and anchoring the sentiment with the composition; the element of shape- by incorporating imaginary triangles in all the floral clusters; element of texture- dry embossing and heat embossing, watercolour wash background effect; and the element of space- making sure there is a balance between the elements and the background with enough room for movement, negative space and focal composition. With all this applied, I have this gorgeous set of cards.
For this hop, I’ve created a Christmas Scene Journal Page. I have used Angels Bells Collection from the new release along with the Falling Snow Stencil and Smile & Wave collection from an older release. The mix up of the two, really brings this scene alive. I’ve used several mixed media techniques and layers on this page. Below is a slide show showcasing the journalpage.

For this hop, I’ve created a layered card filled with embossed goodness. I’ve used the new release Sparkly Flakes Cover Die, along with the Jingle Bells Joy Die Set, Pretty Bows Die, Be Merry Sentiments Die and Signature Tags from the previous release. I’ve coloured all the elements with embossing powders from WOW Embossing. All the supplies are linked below. Check out the slideshow to see the card.

I’m creating layered floral feminine shabby chic tags. I like that they are soft and elegant. I’m using layered stencils with Lindy’s Magicals to create watercolour florals. For the Project along with Lindy’s I’m using Alex Syberia Stamps and Dies. I’m working with layers, so the background has a mix of Magicals with texture paste. Come join me as we explore the many ways to play with the Magicals.
