Mixed Media Cards with Sizzix

Mixed Media Cards are a lot of fun to make. I went all out, with pairing the new Sizzix Layered Stencils from Stacey Park’s latest release with my Lindy’s sprays! Yes you heard that right. I have painted through each layer of the stencil with my Lindy’s creating a nice organic abstract texture and then gone on to add layers using a whole lot of Sizzix Effectz pastes. I also added some ghosted stamping details to complete these cards.

Blending Blooms- Stargazer Lily Class

Hi there,

I am so thrilled to be sharing two cards I created using the Altenew Stargazer Craft A Flower Die Set and Inks.

I love the realistic look I achieved just with Ink Blending. I used detailed brinding brushes, and layered several colours together to achieve this blend. I am happy to share that this is available as a class. This is an upcoming live workshop, on April 7th. The recording will be available after the live Class. A PDF with instructions is also included.

Thank you Cards- AECP 2- Colour Your Day

Today I’m sharing a set of cards I’ve created using the Colour Techniques I learnt in the Colour Your Day class, part of the Altenew’s Educators Certification Program. I work with colours and elements intuitively, and that approach always gives me the desired results. This class helped me put those tips and techniques that I’m aware of in a more meaningful way. I was inspired by the 70, 20, 10 colour proportions when working on a project.

For my cards today, I’ve used shades of Purple (70%), Grey (20%), and neutral- black and white (10%).

I’ve used techniques of adding subtle background texture with a stencil and simple ink blending to accentuate the floral focal clusters. The same stamp set has been used differently on the three cards.

Splatter, sequins, glitter stones, help add the necessary bling to these cards.
