Fantasy

Today we’re back with a magical layout! This time we were inspired by a few challenges and we love our end result:-)!

“Dreams are not without meaning wherever they may come from- from fantasy, from the elements, or from other inspiration.” Beyond the stars is a world of dreams and fantasy- follow your dreams, my friend, they know the way!

Here’s a look at our layout before we getting into our inspirations:)!

Fantasy LO 1

Fantasy LO 3Fantasy LO 2Fantasy LO 4Fantasy LO 5Fantasy LO 7

We were inspired by the following challenges:

Mixed Media and Art October Challenge- Fantasy – We were inspired by the dark shades of blue, grey, green contrasted with the yellow gold of the light, as well as the theme of fantasy and the first image of being lost among stars.

Words and Paintery October challenge – inspired by the colours and theme of creating without limits.

7 Dots Studio October Challenge- Sunrise- Sunset– inspired by sunset leading to a dark yet hopeful night. We’ve used the Dreamscapes and HazyDays Collection.

Cuts2Luv November Challenge– we were inspired by the darker blue-grey tones with the contrast of yellow/gold; our badge has stars on it and we used a clock as our embellishment.

We’ve also created this project for the Stage 4 of Creative Art Project at Mixed Media and Art and have an exclusive post for that here.

Creative Art- Stage 4

For the Mixed Media and Art Creative Art Project Stage 4-Brilliant Decoration,  we’ve created a layout where we’ve used a large hoop style earring on our layout as an embellishment and our entire layout has a shine in terms of glitter beads and gold sparks.

Here’s our layout

Enchanted Memories

Let’s take you down memory lane, and into a world of fantasy with enchanting memories. Life itself is the most wonderful Fairytale.

Today we’re super excited to share our latest creation. We’ve created a Pop-Up Book and used a lot of mixed media techniques for our front cover, and paper crafting for our pop- up pages.

We were inspired by the #ccbchallenge Canvas Corp Brands October Challenge- “Books Worth Reading”, the Mixed Media and Art Joint Project Stage 3- “The Breath of Nature” and the Mixed Media Place October Mood Board.

From the CCB Challenge- we’re taking you into the world of Enid Blyton books. All of us as children grew up reading these books, and today with our project we’ve re-created this mystical, enchanted world.

20245888_1411988875516900_3499484574652924609_n-1

From the MMA Stage 3 challenge, we used natural material- twigs and moss on our front cover and the letters were incorporated in the form of phrases on our focal pictures.

creative2bart1

From the MMP mood board, we were inspired by the images of the books, as well as the child’s room. We interpreted this by creating our own little book of adventure inspired by the famous children’s author Enid Blyton.

We’re also linking this project to the Stamplorations October Mixed Media Challenge

Recently, on a trip to Porto, Portugal, a visit to the famous Livrario Lello Bookshop is a major inspiration behind this project. The bookshop is mystical and magical and happens to have inspired J K Rowling for her Harry Potter series. So the main front cover of our book shows how a visit to this bookshop can take you into this mystical world.

IMG_3647The second part of the cover introduces this mystical land. We’ve used natural materials to enhance the beauty of the world.

IMG_3651

Further, we have three pop up pages showcasing different scenes. One in the form of a book page opening to the mystical land.

Next, a cottage scene.

And lastly, the enchanted forest scene.

Ideas with Papericious Decoupage Supplies

Hello folks,We’re back on the Papericious  blog and today we have fun projects to share with you. We’ve used the new Decoupage Supplies by Papericious- the Papers and the Glue and we enjoyed using them.

The papers are easy to use and come in two sizes – 6″ x 6″ and 8″ x 8″. They come as a set of two perfectly coordinating patterns. The quality of the paper is great- not too thick nor too thin, just right to be able to decoupage. The designs are amazing, and versatile.

The Decoupage Glue is fantastic as well. What we loved the most about this glue is that it remains tacky for a little longer, giving us enough time to play with our paper placement.   The Papericious Decoupage Glue comes in two sizes – 60 g and 200 g.

Onto our inspirations for you…

First up, an altered metal tin…

Next up is a Journal Spread.

A night by the Sea

Come join us for a drink by the sea, under the stars glistening and the moonlight dancing like diamonds on the crystal clear water, bringing waves ashore! An experience to leave you in awe of life and in peace with your inner self.

Today we’re back with our latest mixed media work. We were inspired by the Stage 2 of the Creative Art Joint Project at Mixed Media and Art- Crystal Beauty.

And what have we created? These wives glasses! Yes, we altered two wine glasses for our transparent object. Our glass base is circular, and we also added a few circular shells as well as pearls to incorporate the challenge theme. We’ve used a lot of Prima Marketing and Finnabair products- Color Bloom Sprays, Art Alchemy Paints, Impasto Paints and Waxes.

Here’s a look at our project:

Autumn Love

We’re back with another layout and this time we were inspired by the board at Cuts2Luv October Challenge

cutsoct17ang

In our Layout, we’ve used the Wooden Pattern as our background paper; autumn trees in our focal photo; leaves as our embellishments and the colour combo. To top it all we also followed the sketch! We’ve not given a particular title to this one, as we thought the photo and the Cuts2Luv badge did justice to our layout!

Here’s a look at it:

Message In A Bottle

” ‘It’s Impossible’. Said Pride. ‘It’s Risky.’ Said Experience. ‘It’s Pointless.’ Said Reason. ‘Give it a Try.’ Whispered the Heart.” Here’s a Message in a Bottle that the waves brought ashore. A diary of experiences and a message for each one of you to listen to the whispers of your heart, for only they can give you wings to soar high.

Today we’re back with an altered mixed media creation. We were inspired by the mood board at Mixed Media Place September Challenge and the Lindy’s October Color Challenge! We were also inspired by the Creative Art Joint Venture by Mixed Media and Art Stage One Mechanical Explosion. Our project is submitted for the mentioned challenges.

The mood board at MMP has some amazing colours and elements. The quote inspired us to challenge ourselves and create something, We altered a bottle and have followed the Orange with Teal Color Combo from the board. We incorporated the quote as well, apart from the various textures. moodboard-mmp-9-2017

For the Mechanical Explosion bit, we’ve used hardware store chain, lock and key for our no scrap metal objects and feathers to represent the wings on our picture.

From Lindy’s Colors Challenge Palette we’ve used Sidewalk Chalk, Blazing Black and Hag’s Wart Orange.

Be Brave Tag

Hello,
Today we’re back with a mixed media tag.

We were inspired by Lindy’s Color Challenge and have used the September Color Challenge Mega Kit for our tag. The colours in this set include Sprays: Orange Creamsicle, Golden Doubloons, Delphinium Turquoise, Cathedral Pines Olive, Sandra Dee Sepia; Embossing Powders: Orange Creamsicle, Caesar’s Gold, Guten Tag Teal, Tannenbaum Green Gold and Bratwurst Brown

Here’s a look at our tag

Today we’re here with some inspiration for the Let’s Get SketchyLet’s Get Sketchy mid-month reveal sketch!

September 15

We were inspired by Lindy’s Color Challenge and have used the September Color Challenge Mega Kit for our layout.

Our background consists of stamping with versamark and heat embossing with the colors in the color challenge kit. We also stamped with black and sepia ink. With four different stencil patterns, we sprayed four colors from the kit. The papers used for our layering around our photo, have been created by spraying the colors onto white cardstock. Our title chipboard has also been heat embossed. We stamped the butterflies with the spray for a watercolor effect. Our flowers and leaves have been stamped and heat embossed and then spritzed with color.
