Live, Create, Tell your Story

You see how powerful the title is! It is something we resonate with and today we are here to show you a journal cover we created for ourselves. This year, we decided to go beyond a book for journaling! Last year, most of our books got so bulky that they wouldn’t close and we had baskets all around our house!

So this year, we’ve done up our covers on chipboard, and we’ll use some rings to keep our journal pages between these covers as and when we create.

We always need positivity, motivation, love around us and we represent this in our journal covers. Here’s a look at it, before we talk more about it.

Feb Lindy 1

It says it all- ‘Fall in Love with as many things as possible’ and we today urge you all to fall in Love with yourselves. Peep inside, and reflect. Any journey begins with loving yourself, and then you Live, Create and Tell your Story. The colours we used for this our the pink tones- Shade of Red, which to us are LOVE. This is one creation, which makes us proud of ourselves. While working on our covers, we also created a quick journal page to go inside it- that again is filled with positivity. Our insides of the front and back cover- have quotes, that sure will pump us up every time we open it. We were inspired by the Path of Positivity Challenge Blog and their February Theme- Shades of Red; by the mood board and colours at Lindy’s February Challenge; the Take Note theme at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge; Words & Paintery February Challenge- Love is all around

We’ve used Lindy’s Gang Products (Colours linked below); Prima Marketing- Stencil; Finnabair- Mediums, Art Stones, Waxes, Matallique Paints, Glitter, Stamps; Papericious -Chipboard and assorted chippies from our stash; Tim Holtz- Mini Motivation Stamps; Peek-a-boo Designs- Stencil

No fuss journaling

Today we’re here to show you our latest journal page. The title says it all, we decide to work with minimal elements and create a page within 5 minutes. Sometimes, art doesn’t have to be complicated, the less the better and trust us it’s effective!

So here’s a look at our page

We were inspired by the January Moodboard at Scraps n Pieces Blog. The colours, the image of the drink and ‘Baby it’s cold outside’. So we used these and decided to journal. When it’s cold and you just want to relax, you don’t want to work too hard, and our page reflects that mood as well.

Artist, Poet, Fruitarian…………. Lizzy Love is a perfect combination of sweet and sour that glitters up the grunge! Easily lose yourself in her artistic realm of sometimes spooky but always delightfully cute, big-eyed waifs and their animal friends. Lizzy’s whimsical, one of a kind dream world is easily recognizable by her signature style of creepy yet cute, all the way from the haunting darkness to the rainbowtastic, her original creations are lovingly sprinkled with a heartbreaking sweetness. Though she is completely enthralled by her Twinkling watercolors right now, Lizzy employs many different mediums when she creates, from drawing to painting, sewing and cutting, the end result always being the same; A gothic fantasy land painted in soft pastels and neon colors; filled with big-eyed beauties, creepy little cuties and quirky monsters of all shapes and sizes. Lizzy Love’s artwork includes original paintings both acrylic and watercolour, giclee fine art prints, art dolls, digital and rubber stamps of her characters, hand-painted merchandise such as bags, T-shirts and more….. limited only by her imagination the possibilities are endless. http://www.oddballartco.com/

Gift Box and Journal Spread on Black

Hello everyone,We are excited to be back with our second post for Rinea:-)!

Today we’ve used the Love and Mettalics pack and created a mixed media journal page and a gift box! With Valentine’s soon approaching, we decided to make a gift box, as the foiled papers are perfect for them.

Here’s a look at the gift box:

We used the Papericious ready die cut box and decorated it with Rinea Papers. We first cut for our sides and the top. Then, we ran the paper for the sides, through an embossing folder, to add some interest. We then adhered them to the base of the box. We finally die-cut some swirls with a contrasting paper and stuck them on the sides and the top to complete it.  Doesn’t it make a perfect gift for your loved ones!?

Next, let’s have a look at our Journal Spread.

These papers were so pretty and vibrant that we decided to create a spread in our Black Book! For this spread, we’ve used two stencils and add some Art Alchemy paint through them for the background! We then used multiple Lindy’s Sprays and added splatter randomly. Next, we punched circles from various colours of the foiled paper. We used two sizes so we could punch within the bigger circle as well giving us rings. We also die cut a few elements and layered all of these on our prepped background! We completed it with a few word stickers!

We’re back with some inspiration for you to play along with this week’s Anything Goes Challenge at Through The Craftroom Door Blog

This week our Sponsor is

Living in Leeds, Yorkshire in the UK, working full time as a Management Accountant, currently working on 2 design teams and an obsessive crafter and creator of cards. I have no actual style as yet but do love the unusual and quirky. I may be known for producing cards in soft pastel colours.
I love anything arty. I’ve always drawn stuff, for as long as I can remember. In my younger days, I sold a few watercolour paintings. I recently found mixed media which is a joy and love creating canvases with flowers.
I had a battle with digital drawing for about a year and finally found some software I could gel with. January 2016 a challenge team I worked on was short of a designer’s images to create with so I drew some. I opened my shop a month later so I could sponsor challenges and give something back to the crafting world, to the lovely ladies who have supported me on my journey.
I’ve a Facebook group SheepSki Designs where I hold challenges, some for fun to win digis as well as my monthly card challenge. I’ve a SheepSki Designs challenge blog as well. Things are growing slowly (thankfully) so I still manage to spend at least a little time with my hubby 😀
You could be the lucky winner of 3 digital images of your choice.
We’ve used the Wild Roses Image and here’s our creation:
